The purpose of this build is to run graphically intensive games at a reasonably high setting at 1440P. Some games will even touch 144Hz which will drastically improve your gaming experience, this is because gaming at 144Hz offers smoothness you could never achieve at 60FPS. You also have a bit of upgradability since the PSU has a lot of headroom for better components.

The Build & Components

The Ryzen 7 3700x is a well-known CPU mainly for its performance/price ratio. I’ve picked the Ryzen 7 3700x because it games well & when it comes to getting the best bang for your buck, you can always rely on AMD. We’re going to stick with the stock cooler that comes with the Ryzen 7 3700x, this is because the processor doesn’t generate that much heat & the stock cooler will do a perfect job taming the CPU.

We’re going to stick with a mid-tier motherboard that has a pretty decent 12+2 VRM phase module, overclocking shouldn’t be an issue. For RAM Nothing too special here in terms of RGB lighting, but you can rest assured you have fast and reliable memory for your system. The Samsung 970 EVO PLUS is a top-tier NVME M.2 SSD being one of the fastest SSDs around.

We’ve gone with a budget case as there’s no point going for an overpriced chassis. The Fractal Design Focus G is a standard mid-tower case with fantastic airflow and cable management. Also, it looks pretty cool. The RX 5700 XT at the moment is in the sweet-spot for 1440P gaming, not overkill & not expensive. And the Gigabyte Model is fairly budget.

When it comes to building a PC, the power supply is the most important component. The G3 650 ensures you have enough juice, it’s super-efficient and high quality.

This will benefit you if you’re playing fast-paced FPS games giving you the upper edge against your opponents. Additionally, it has native Freesync which is meant specifically for AMD graphics cards. What freesync will do for you is to minimize screen tearing and reduce stuttering.

The purpose of this build is to leave no performance on the table and dominate the 1440P 144Hz gaming space without breaking the bank. You’ll be able to max out most games at 1440P, some requiring you to play with the settings, but nothing too drastic. The I7 10700K is in Intel’s latest line of processors, and it features 8 cores and 16 threads, so that means that the I7 has their hyper-threading capabilities back.

The Build & Components

The processor of choice is the I7 10700K which at the moment is one of the best gaming processors. It surpassed its predecessor which is the I7 9700K, and it even outperforms the I9 9900K in gaming due to the higher clock speeds. To go with the processor, we’ve picked the Noctua NH-D15 to tame this beast. The NH-D15 is one of the most powerful air coolers, and on top of that, it’s extremely quiet.

With the motherboard, we’re keeping it nice and affordable; it is a Z490 motherboard that supports the new 10th generation Intel chips with an LGA1200 socket. It has a 14+2 power phase module which is quite powerful (more is better). So, if you intend on overclocking you already have a pretty capable motherboard to do so. We’re sticking with the same 16GB DDR4 3600 RAM simply because it is high performing, budget, and not too flashy.

The SSD of choice is the Samsung 970 EVO PLUS which is one of the fastest SSDs on the market. This will give you blazingly fast loading times in almost anything whether is booting, loading a game, or moving/copying files. In 2020, SSDs are a must.

Our graphics card of choice is the ASUS RTX 2070 SUPER which is comparable to the RX 5700 XT. The ASUS RTX 2070 SUPER has a decent boost clock which will render a few extra frames in-game, also the cooling is spectacular, ASUS really knows how to cool a GPU. And for the case, we’re going for the NZXT H510 chassis which has a clean, minimalistic chassis, and it already has a pre-enhanced cable management system you can use.

And we’re keeping the EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W PSU since its extremely high quality, and it has enough juice to power the system. You really don’t want to cheap out on a PSU because it can bring other components with it when it dies.

Recommended Monitor – ASUS ROG Strix XG279Q 27″

Our recommended monitor is a high quality 1440P G-SYNC monitor that can overclock to 170Hz. G-SYNC is proprietary to NVIDIA graphics cards, reduces screen tearing and stuttering like Freesync. This monitor will provide excellent graphical fidelity when gaming, you can count on the color accuracy of this monitor since it’s an IPS monitor.

If you’re a budget seeker, then this build is perfect, the purpose of this build is not to break your bank and give you a great gaming experience that’s worth the money. At 1440P, the 5600 XT will be enough, however, some games you may have to tune the settings a little to have the best playing experience. 144Hz is also possible in some games (not too graphically intensive) such as CSGO and League Of Legends. Also, we’ve swapped out the M.2 drive for a SATA drive, but you’ll still have extremely fast load times.

The Build & Components

The CPU of choice is a budget processor, but don’t be fooled just because its affordable, it’s quite powerful & it’ll fare well at 1440P gaming. It is a 6c12 processor clocked at 3.6 GHz base and 4.2 GHz boost. Because we’re keeping the build budget, we’re sticking with the wraith cooler which comes with the processor. The stock cooler is more than enough to keep the chip cool as the TDP is pretty low anyway.

Our motherboard of choice is also budget, it comes with all the necessary features, the VRM features a 4+2 phase module which is good enough for standard use. however, your overclocking potential isn’t that great. The RAM of choice is still the Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3600 modules simply because it’s high performing and affordable.

We’ve gone for a more cost-friendly SSD drive which is the Samsung 860 EVO 1TB SATA drive. The SATA drive is still faster and more durable than mechanical HDD’s, you’ll still experience blazingly fast boot and game loading times. The graphics card is the XFX RX 5600 XT which is capable at 1440P as long as you’re fine sacrificing some settings.

The case of choice is the Phanteks Eclipse P400S & the case is clean and aesthetically pleasing, and the best part it has subtle ambient RGB to add personality to your build. It is perfect for beginner builders & it allows for cable management. The power supply is a 550W module which is enough to supply enough juice to the components. The GPU and CPU don’t require that much power, fortunately. It is also semi-modular therefore you can remove some pointless cables.

Recommended Monitor – LG 32GK650F-B 32″ QHD Gaming Monitor

This gaming monitor is a 32inch 1440P monitor that can overclock to 144Hz. It is cheaper than the other recommended monitors which makes this build much more budget friendly. It has Freesync to reduce screen tearing, this will come in use since this system uses a AMD video card.
